Pattymelt, Lindsay, and Felix OH MY!

On a recent visit home Les and I stopped
through Wadsworth, Ohio to visit my homey Pattymelt, Lindsay (AP's fiance), and Felix (their gorgeous baby boy). An OG member of crew from the College of Wooster, AP has been a strong supporter of my artwork and was actually one of the first people to actually commission a piece of mine (pictured above).

Lindsay, a fellow artist,
did a superb job decorating baby Felix's room in a panda theme (referencing his biracial ethnicity). I applaud her whitty inspiration as well as her attention to details. The space is riddled with an array of
fabulous found objects including a panda rug, bamboo flutes, oversized hand painted panda piggy bank, and panda mobile to name a few.
Original and Potent...Love the creativity Linds!

Love you guys and can't wait to see lil man blossom!

These are some recent sketchbook entries. I love the simplicity as well as the pure separation in subject matter and connotation when the images are flipped.

Behind Tinted Windows

This piece, entitled Behind Tinted Windows, was inspired by my best friend/love/dream girl Leslie Prince. Through utilization of layered imagery and misdirecting texture it speaks to the endless mystery of beauty and deception, happiness and pain.

Zombie Femme Fatale

Zombie Femme Fatale was a watercolor gift that I did for my buddy Tiffers. She's really into burlesque chicks and zombies. Kinda dark...but potent.

Daily Moistocity: Purple Haze

Is it smog?
Purple engulfing errrthing,
Is it smoke?
Ninjas surround prey.

Is it sweat?
Moist from Mountain Dew.
Is it rain?
Prince throttles guitar,

Is that Jedi?
Lightsaber holstered,
What's that smell?
Grimus's eye lids fall to a squint.

Lozenges can't stop this cough,
Mellow glaze,
Sticky fingers,
Damn purple haze!

Current Project: "Hall of Doom"

Commissioned by one of my dudes on the west coast, Hall of Doom consists of multiple layers of verbage and imagery inspired by MF Doom, a true underground hip-hop genius.

For those unfamiliar with Doom's work, aka Viktor Vaughn, Zev Love X, Metal Face, and Metal Fingers, is a self-proclaimed hip-hop Supervillain set out to destroy all whack MC's. Inspired by Dr Doom, he directly plays of the mystery and darkness of the old villain from the comics.

Should be completed sometime this week!
